Celebrate Sisters
Today, I celebrate all of my sisters in this sisterhood
I don’t care if they are considered bad or good
Who am I to judge them anyway?
Truth be told, without God
You would not have caught me on a good day
I know I have not done everything
Or treated everyone right in my life
I have stepped on some toes…
And some of these toes, more than twice
So, I am not only asking for Grace and Mercy,
I am extending it too
Please come and join me
This is all we have to do…
Forgive that sister, who told the lie,
And the one that looked you right in the face
And still walked right on by
Without saying hi
What about the one who rejected you in school
Let it go, it doesn’t matter now
God thinks you’re cool
Yes, even the one who called you sister to your face,
But when you turned your back
She spoke about you nothing but hate
Yes, the sister who always finds a sly way to put you down,
You could probably deal with it,
If she did it when no one else was around
Her too, YES, the minister right in the church,
She didn’t realize she wasn’t healed completely
From her own hurt
WOW, I Almost Forgot…
Some of us even need to forgive our own mothers
Parenting doesn’t come with a handbook,
So even with all her mistakes
We know we love her
Let’s make a HEED pack
Before it’s too late
That we will promise
To ALWAYS celebrate
Every sister
Wherever she is in her life,
We will pray that she seeks God to get it right
I will pray that when I see her,
Somewhere in her, I can see me
Then I will have no other choice
But to LOVE her and extend mercy
